18650 Battery Holder (2-Cell) with Cover & Switch
Upgrade your robot’s power supply with this premium 2-Cell 18650 Battery Holder. Unlike standard open battery sleds, this enclosure features a sliding plastic cover to protect your volatile lithium-ion cells from drops and short circuits. Best of all, it includes a built-in ON/OFF switch, saving you the hassle of adding a separate toggle switch to your robot chassis.
Why choose this battery holder?
- Built-in Power Switch: Turn your entire project on or off with a single click. No more unplugging delicate jumper wires every time you need to reset your robot.
- Fully Enclosed Safety: The sliding lid locks into place, keeping the batteries secure during high-speed movement and preventing loose metal tools from causing accidental shorts.
- Perfect 7.4V Output: This case wires the two 3.7V cells in series, delivering a nominal 7.4V (up to 8.4V fully charged). This is the absolute sweet spot for powering an L298N motor driver or an Arduino’s VIN pin.
Common Applications
- Main power supply for 2WD and 4WD Mobile Robots
- Powering Arduino Uno/Mega boards (via the VIN pin)
- Portable IoT and Weather Station Enclosures
- RC Cars, Boats, and custom LED lighting rigs
The Bench Robotics Guarantee

Common Questions
Does this case output 3.7V or 7.4V?
This case is wired in series, meaning it adds the voltages of the two batteries together. 3.7V + 3.7V = 7.4V total output. It will not output 3.7V.
Can I charge the batteries while they are in this case?
No. This is strictly a battery holder, not a charger or Battery Management System (BMS). To charge the batteries, you must remove them and put them in a dedicated 18650 wall charger, or wire a 2S BMS board to the output leads.
Will it fit both “Flat Top” and “Button Top” batteries?
Yes. The internal springs are long enough to accommodate standard flat-top batteries securely, but flexible enough to fit the slightly longer button-top batteries without issue.
My circuit isn’t turning on. What’s wrong?
First, check the built-in switch! Second, verify battery polarity. In series holders, one battery points “up” and the other points “down.” The flat negative end of the battery always goes against the metal spring.
